Dr.
Terence Kavanagh, medical consultant to the
CCRF
(Canadian Cardiac Rehabilitation Foundation) and world-renowned cardiac
rehabilitation specialist, will be speaking at the
inaugural Judy Carlyle
Lecture on
Thursday, March 27, 2008. His talk will focus on the health benefits of exercise, especially in
relation to preventing and combating heart disease. This event will act as the
kick-off for the 24th
Annual GTA Walk of Life and the 40th anniversary of the Dr. Kavanagh’s
exercise based cardiac rehabilitation program. As the CCRF is committed to
educating Canadians about heart disease, which is still the
number one
cause of premature death in Canada, the lecture is free and open to the public.
